My Students

My students are so curious about the world. At four and five years old, they are constantly asking questions and want to know more. Their desire for knowledge is evident. In these fundamental years of development, they are learning to be readers and writers. This group has a passion for learning.

My students are highly motivated kindergarteners from West Harlem (Title I District) that have so much potential to succeed.

My class student population is diverse and is made up of multiple ethnicities, ENL (English as a New Language), IEP (Individualized Education Program) students. Diversity within our school is something we embrace and nurture.

In kindergarten, we teach children about empathy. This group is caring and they always strive to be better community members. They take an interest in each other. I want my students to always take pride in themselves and their learning materials.

My Project

My kindergarten students are beginning to learn to read! They are so excited to learn new letters and sounds every day. The materials in this project will go towards helping them reinforce their letters and sounds.

These games are very engaging, and I know they will help my students learn the foundational skills of reading.

These phonics, letter sound, and sight word skills they will practice will take them through kindergarten and beyond. Just like all young kids, my students love to learn through play! Thank you so much for your generous donations to support my students and our classroom!
