This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
Freedom to explore with hands on materials- a Kindergarten students, favorite part of the school day! What could be more exciting than exploring with sand and water? During our "Learning Labs" time this could be possible!
My students are the only Kindergarten class in our school.
We are a low income inner city school district where most of our students receive free meals at school. My students are bright, energetic, curious children who often do not have the opportunity to actually touch and manipulate tools to explore and learn.
My Project
My classroom of enthusiastic five year olds would LOVE the opportunity to have some hands-on exploration with sand and water activities. We would be able to use our new supplies in many different academic areas including language arts, math, science, and social studies. This "lab" would be a great experience for my many students who have difficulty with fine motor skills and sensory issues.
Kindergarten is always an exciting year of school for all children.
The time allowed for self exploration and the ability to take the simplest items and find so many new and exciting revelations about ourselves and the world around us is so important to these young students. Your generosity will allow my tactile learners to explore and make connections to the various areas of academics.
