Help me give my students freedom to sit using lap desks anywhere besides a boring desk; pocket charts for presentations and centers; and balls to use on our playground.
Flexible seating will allow my students to have some responsibility of their learning environment and to make the best choice that works for them. During whole group learning they will be able to sit where they can see better. While independent learning is going on they will be able to choose a location that works best for them. Currently my students only have their desks or a clipboard as choices for seating. Making sure that my students are comfortable with their seating choice makes learning more fun and is an essential component in motivating them to learn. They seem to engage more with the lessons being taught when they are given a choice of seating.
The products that I have selected will give my students another choice for seating which will help my students be more engaged and make learning more effective.
These lap desks will extremely help my students that just can't sit still at a table but could be more comfortable sitting on the floor. These desks are light weight and can be used in many areas of the classroom with ease.
Pocket charts are an essential component to my classroom. I use them when teaching my lessons for reinforcements of the materials being used and then my students will use them during learning center times to hold the materials need for their center. These pocket charts help the students keep materials more organized and less chaotic during independent learning time.
We have 100+ Kindergarteners that don't have access to balls that we can use on our playground. We have the equipment, like basketball goals, four square games, but not balls to use with them. These balls would give my children more playground choices and teach them to share.
