Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I am looking forward to starting this year off on an exciting note with my new Kindergarten students! Since Corona hit, learning in the classroom has impacted things like social-emotional interactions, as well as the process of learning with tactile materials.
This year, we are excited to encourage more peer work, introduce a cozy corner (with floor seats), and more tactile learning.
For example, the 3-bead word builders and sensory squish beads will be used to practice letters and build words during morning work when practicing CVC words.
I have also included things like a nature theme classroom bundle to create a calm and aesthetically pleasing environment to promote learning. Organizational materials and prizes have also been added to the list to support students focus and motivation to learn and partake in activities. Lastly, I have added a giftcard for Teachers Pay Teachers as a way to gain access to a myriad of resources throughout the year to support my students.
