Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

This is my fifth year in Kindergarten at a wonderful school. My students are eager 5-6 years olds, coming from a variety of backgrounds. They love to continually be engaged in the classroom!

My students work hard to achieve their goals.

To keep the learning process exciting, I use a variety of materials. This makes my students excited and curious about learning, and I want to make sure I have these materials to foster their love of learning on a daily basis!

My Project

My students love to go to centers! They visit the computer center, the teacher center, and their word work center typically involves a fun reading game. Most of these games are printed from the computer, and are more enticing when they are in color! When my students begin reading, they are so excited to read AR books and take reading comprehension tests on the computer. Our school AR program really motivates children to read, and it is difficult to find AR books on a Kindergarten reading level! All the materials I requested create a fun and engaging learning environment for all my students! Watching my students get excited about learning is one of the most rewarding aspects of my profession!
