My Students

The kindergarten students are now sitting on a small rug that they all try to cram on together. Most of them have to sit on the tile floor during playtime and story time. I want them to feel at home and comfortable when they are with me in the classroom.

We are a kindergarten class in a Philadelphia, Pennsylvania public kindergarten to eighth grade school.

They are energetic, wonderful, bright students. They love coming to school everyday. They are excited about learning new things and meeting new friends.

My Project

Getting a new rug for our classroom will enable us to gather together to read stories, have circle time, and review what we did that day. It will provide a place they can sit and play with their friends and enjoy being together. They will have a safe, warm place to gather in the classroom.

If we could get a new rug to gather on my students would feel more comfortable, more at home.

I want them to think of the classroom as their second home and to enjoy gathering with me everyday on the rug to listen to a new story or share something special that happened that day.
