Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Students come to my kindergarten class each year, eager to learn through books and play! I would love to add to our social-emotional library by adding some fantastic books written for the audience of younger children. Books that teach about values will help our social-emotional learning... such an important aspect that kindergarten students learn in their first year of school, especially after surviving a pandemic!

I love being able to provide my kindergarteners with resources that will be used over the course of our entire year together.

Paintbrushes and plates are some hands-on materials that my students love to get creative with. Large blocks will give my students the opportunities to build and work together in collaboration, while also fostering strong fine motor and speech skills.

A planner, colored highlighters, and colored sharpie markers all help this teacher keep our classroom organized and properly planned for! Such an important aspect of teaching such young students is making sure that I am well-organized (and able to adjust what or how I've planned) to make their learning experience a breeze. With an erasable planner (that can also be sent directly to the computer!), I would be able to plan so many interesting and engaging lessons while making sure I can edit for the needs of every single student in my class.
