My Students
My students are an energetic group of Kindergarten learners. They come to school excited to learn, discover, and explore. We are a neighborhood school with a diverse population of students from TK-5th grade. The parents, teachers, and school community are dedicated to making sure my students have everything they need to meet the common core standards and more. We spend our mornings learning in language arts and math workshops. Our afternoons are spent doing science, social studies as well as free play time.
Through imaginative play, my students become more creative, perform better in class and develop a problem solving approach to learning.
My Project
STEM lessons have become an important component of our Kindergarten curriculum. I am incorporating literature and hands-on activities to address this curriculum in my classroom.
Brain Blox will encourage my students to use their imaginations in building structures based on literature.
These Blox will help students with perseverance, divergent thinking, engineering design and real world applications. I have stories such as "I Wanna A New Room" and "If I Built A House" that will help students imagine and build their dream bedroom or a smart house. The possibilities are really endless when you give students an idea and tools to build and express their ideas!
