This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Our school is considered a transition school. We house many shelter families who need a lot of support. Many of our Kindergarteners will be a part of the Summer Rising Program in NYC to help them maintain what they have learned and stretch their academic / social growth to keep them moving forward in a positive way. We would like to share and show our students and their families in an amazing way how proud we are of them.

Do you remember being in kindergarten, well for many of our students, it was the first time for them ever being in a school setting, from making lasting friendships to learning how to count and read, it was challenging but it worth every milestone we conquered in kindergarten and that deserves to be celebrated!

The end to our school year is fast approaching and we would like to make the end of this school year special for them to showcase all of the accomplishments that they have made this school year with a Moving Up ceremony!

The party graduation items will help us to give each child some tokens of appreciation. The graduation stoles and hats show they worked really hard and will have a piece of memorabilia for years to come. The miniature toys will provide them with activities they can use throughout the Summer and have loads of summertime fun! We cannot put holes in the walls, so the tape is a much-needed tool to keep every up.

Your donations to this project will help us make their environment enriching and have them looking forward to all of the new experiences they will have in first grade!
