Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

The books and supplies will allow my students to foster a love of reading. Instilling a love for reading in young learners allows them to become more creative and imaginative and increases their learning and reading skills. I choose books that offer colorful illustrations and provide students with stories that build their vocabulary and comprehension. Books such as, The Family Book, The Best Story, and The Dot foster a love for reading and increase students' understanding of diversity, writing, and comprehension. The craft popsicle sticks will be used as reading sticks to support one-to-one correspondence and word tracking. The post-it tabs allow students to bookmark book pages to continue reading or save their favorite parts of the books.
