My Students

My kindergarten ICT classroom is comprised of students of a multitude of backgrounds and specific needs. My students are inquisitive and enjoy making connections and building relationships with one another through learning and play.

We are a Title One school located in a low-income neighborhood.

Our students and their families, like many others, have been heavily affected during this time of remote learning.

Nonetheless, my students and their families have been working diligently and persistently at home to keep up with their learning. My students and their families have connected with one another in a very unique way.

My Project

It has shown that reading aloud helps students increase levels of concentration and assists students in making sense of spoken language. Reading aloud helps auditory learners maximize their learning skills.

Reading a variety of engaging and relatable books will help engage my students as they work on developing language and comprehension skills.

These selected books will allow students to engage with expressive characters that are not only relatable, but have meaningful lessons to share. Modeling the reading process will help my students develop a deeper love of reading and as a prerequisite to independent reading.
