This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are creative, thoughtful and full of questions! They absolutely love hands-on, active, engaging projects and challenges that allow them to think outside the box to find solutions! They come to school each day ready to try new things and take brave chances in order to grow both personally and academically. Truly, they are my inspiration! Many students in my classroom come in saying they have difficulty completing practice assignments at home because of a lack of supplies and resources.

My Project

My students deserve to have a great year after what was considered the hardest school year ever known. The materials that I have requested will not only bring my students joy, but will also help them feel excited about learning. The finger puppet toys will help me create engaging small group activities such as "puppet read" and "puppet share and talk". The smelly markers will make amazing incentives to keep my students on their toes! It will definitely make them work for them.

Unfortunately, COVID-19 has impacted schools negatively in many ways.

I have requested reading buddies to help students participate in partner reading to an adorable stuffed animal. Not only will they be able to read to the stuffed animal, but they will be able to stay safe from being too close to someone. This will help my kindergarten students love reading and keep them engaged and excited at all times. The teacher carts will help me keep my curriculum in a clean manner. As we all know, students all around the world lost a full year of education. That is a full year of creativity put on hold. The utility carts will allow me to organize their small group activities in a way that is easily accessible to me and my students. Lastly, the fidget toys and coloring books will also help my students focus in class and will help minimize distractions so everyone can have optimal learning.
