Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I have twenty kindergartners. They love to be active, and so do I. We are not the best with organization and having a spot for everything, but we get the job and or projects done.

Due to Covid, we have been isolated with sharing materials.

My method of organizing our vast amount of individual materials is not the best. My poor busy bees have a hard time keeping the book bins I gave them straight and can’t stop them from falling over. With that said, this does not stop me or them from making their room fun and inviting or getting the job done. But no matter what this year has been the most rewarding for me because my lovely twenty are willing, able, and ready to learn every day.

My Project

Having an organized place where students could put their journals and books away from their work station would allow them to focus better. As of now we use book bins on top of their desk and they fall over, the students have to put them on the floor because they block the view of other students and when on the floor they kick the book bins over. We've tried putting the materials in their desk cubbies, but they become play toys and a distraction from instruction.

When a teacher has a positive learning environment, which includes organization it leads to success for both the teacher and the students.

So, while my students learn, create, and manage just being a kid, they can enjoy having a place where their things can go and is kept out of the way so they can flourish.
