This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

This year, my class of kindergarten students will get to experience interactive notebooks with STEAM.

Former years, I’ve used composition notebooks with older students but never thought of using them with kindergarten.

Until this summer when I attended a Summer teacher program that ultimately taught me to use interactive notebooks even with younger students. I immediately became engaged with each practice used in the interactive notebooks, and carefully assembled a sample model with all the information given from the workshop.

My students will learn the purpose and routine of using the notebooks, and will be given each a composition notebook they can personalize and keep record of their progress throughout the year.

No matter how many pages are used or subjects are covered, the students will have hands on experience with interactive notebooks.
