Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I teach kindergarten in a rural town. My school is a Title One school with many low income families. Kindergarten, for most students, is the first time they have been in school. I teach core subjects with a full school day, with the capacity to have twenty students. I am asking for items to help my classroom because it is quite expensive to fund all of our needs. I have asked for flexible seating options for students to participate in learning activities without having to sit in a seat for long periods of time. These seating cushions would allow for us to sit on the floor together to work on learning activities. It is highly important that my students feel comfortable to allow positive learning opportunities.

I also asked for a few smaller items such as crayons, markers and wipes, that will aide in grading, cleaning, and line-up practice.
