Help Mrs. Rhodes

Kidz Greenroom/Library is a project being undertaken by our Student council. Student council consist of students in 1st through 5th grade.

Students have a strong need for science and research. Last semester the student council voted to have a classroom that could be used by all grades. The principal gave us a room and now we are trying to bring it into reality.

We are in need of insects to put into our greenroom for students to see and then research in books as well as on the computer. This will benefit the students in the whole school with these added materials. Our students did not do well on the MEAP. We went down 10% in Science I believe that these materials will give our students a hands-on experience thereby energizing his/her learning experience. The students will be able to understand the diversity of life, between the plant, animal and insect kingdom. Questions will be posed to guide the students comprehension process. This learning experience will be designed in a manner that focuses on the application of the scientific method. This process will aid the development of skills (inquiry, observation, data collection and result interpretation) needed to find solutions to questions posed.

This is a project undertaken by 10 students, but will benefit the whole school as well as our community. We really would appreciate any support especially for our "Kids Greenroom Library".
