Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

This library will help student choose books at their level which may help them develop the love for reading. Because my students are not at reading level or do not speak English, they are becoming reluctant readers. I want them to see books and think, “I can’t wait to check out another book.”

Having this library will allow me to work in small groups with specific students, so they may begin to enjoy reading and build their reading levels as well.

I will also be able to have them work with a partner who can sit with them to practice reading in a more comfortable setting. Partner reading can be a great experience for many especially if they praise each other as they develop their skills. Building reading skills will also assist in building writing skills.
