My Project

I love how my pre-k students just dive into learning and are ready to engage with the world around them! With this in mind, I strive to make our classroom a print rich environment that they can explore and build their emerging literacy skills. My students have access to engaging books and reading materials in the classroom and have the opportunity to check out books from the school library.

It's my goal to foster a love of reading, however many of my students do not have access to high quality reading materials at home.

A subscription to Scholastic My Big World pre-k readers is an excellent way for me to provide my students with both school and home access to quality reading material. These little readers are full of information on a variety of non-fiction topics that are engaging and relevant! Many issues are about health, social studies, and science topics such as fire safety, insect life cycles, and seasons . Each month students will receive two readers along with daily school and home access to online non-fiction resources. We can explore these readers together in school and then I can send them home to be enjoyed with their families.

As most of my students come from low income homes, having a subscription to Scholastic Readers is a wonderful opportunity to support student success and bridge the gap between home and school learning! Thank you for considering a donation to my project in support of early readers!
