My Project

Creating strong characters and community is something that I love to do in my first grade classroom. I use literature to support my Social Emotional lessons with students. I am constantly running to the public library or using YouTube to share these stories it's just not enough. Obtaining these books to keep in my classroom will enrich my classroom lessons and enable me to address issues as they arise in my classroom. Whether it's a planned lesson or we stop everything immediately to have a classroom conference, these are the resources I would turn to.

The bonding that happens when we sit in a circle together and work through these difficult topics is what makes my classroom unique.

I support my students through the good times and hard times in their character growth and the students support each other too. I use these books to create a calm classroom where students grow in more than academic ways.
