Kids Caring for their Community

My students need a Cricut machine and t-shirt press to more efficiently serve the members of the community with their cancer fighting, K9 funding, brilliant and empathetic community project.

My Students

Every morning I come to work and greet 30 young minds in the hopes they leave at the end of the day, just a little bit wiser, a little bit stronger, a little bit more confident. More than 75% of my students come from families who struggle day after day just to put food on the table. My students come to school hungry for food and hungry to learn. These students often step into their education lives, with limited knowledge of the content areas, yet are asked to perform and rise above high expectations.

My students work hard every single day to overcome social, economic, and academic obstacles. These beautiful young minds deserve every opportunity to achieve their wildest dreams.

My Project

My students will be using the Cricut machine, t-shirt press and other supplies to make cancer survivor shirts for members of the community. Through personal experiences, my students have come to believe that cancer patients are among the strongest people to walk among us. They believe these patients and survivors deserve respect for the journey they have endured. My students have designed Cancer Survivor shirts to show their support for their warrior community members.

My students are incredibly compassionate towards people AND animals; they have chosen to donate all t-shirt funds to the Police Department's K9 Patrol Unit.

My students believe in supporting members of the community by honoring the fight cancer patients had to endure. As hard as my students are working, they know others out there are fighting everyday for their lives. Therefore, all funds that come in for the shirts, will be donated back into the community. The children have decided they will donate money to the Police Department's K9 Unit as a way of saying "Thank you for protecting our community!"

A Cricut machine and t-shirt press will help us efficiently meet the requests for more Cancer Survivor shirts. Thus raising awareness and support for our neighbors who have battled cancer. Through hard work, passion for others, effective time and money management and an unrelentingly "go get em" attitude, my students are helping local cancer warriors smile, one t-shirt at a time.
