My Project

We are a neighborhood and immersion school. We have a Native language immersion program. All of the students receive free breakfast and lunch. We are located near a joint military base with many students coming from military families. Our school is culturally diverse with many different languages spoken and as many cultures represented. With our geographic location and high cost of living, we face many challenges others don't.

What do you do when you are a kid who is stuck in between being a teenager and a kid and you are looking to see if anyone else went through the same things you are going through?

You look for books about famous people who share stories of tough situations they went through as they were growing up.

That's right even famous people get pimples or have a subject in school that is hard for them. The Kid Legends book series will allow my students to see that everyone has problems or faces challenges in their lives. They will be able to see themselves represented in the famous artists, scientists, presidents, and others. It is pretty cool to know that you can relate to what someone famous went through in life.

We are asking for Kid Musicians, Athletes, Olympians, Activists, Innovators, Presidents, Scientists, Trailblazers, Authors, and Artists.
