My Students

More than half of my students are ENL; students who speak another language at home. Our school is a Leader in Me school. We were rewarded with being a Lighthouse School. Our students strive to use the 7 habits +1. We believe that every child has capabilities, talents, and strengths, and is gifted in his or her own way. The students in my class strive to work hard every day. They know that working hard in class will make their mind grow. Going into the beginning of the school year I want my students to have the tools that they need in the classroom to succeed, while building a foundation for them to be life long learners.

My Project

How do you develop a lifetime love for learning? Students, especially in an early childhood setting, learn best through hands-on experiences, through play, from their peers, and by being able to teach their peers what was taught to them through other forms of representation.

Students need manipulatives, centers, and an environment that will be free to let them explore, create, and analyze what is being presented to them.

The use of these materials will help with various centers for students to explore. These materials are differentiated to fit the needs of my students.
