Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Students in grades are engaged in physical activity twice a week for 45 minutes. I want my students to acquire the basic skills and fitness necessary to lead a healthy and active lifestyle. Many students rather watch TV or play video games. Our motto is, " Stay Fit Don't Quit"

My students all come from a poverty ridden part of Homestead.

They all receive free lunch and many people just seem to give up on them. I will do no such thing. I want them to have the same experiences, the same education, and the same resources as the best schools in the city. No child should have to suffer in the classroom because they do not have what others do. Aside from teaching, I believe that it is my role to provide for my students in any way that I possibly can.

My Project

The donation of this video camera well be used to show my students during class activities such as baseball, basketball and football how they are performing a specific skill and what improvements they may need to make. It will give my students immediate feedback. our physical education budget has been limited and we have discovered that we are sorely lacking some equipment that would allow us to diversify the activities we offer our children. With this equipment we can ensure the students have enough equipment to keep them interested and excited about participating in physical education. The ipod touch and speaker dock will make our fitness workout more exciting and get the student more interested in doing the activities. the board games are for the indoor activities when the weather doesn't agree with activities of the outdoor and also the ipod touch will also play a role in our indoor physical education.
