So this is my very first year ever teaching kindergarten. I am giddy with excitement but also in need of various items to meet the needs of my classroom. These resources will help give my students resources to make learning fun, hands-on, and engaging! I am quite passionate when it comes to education, and I really make sure students are in engaged in learning. My goal for this year (my first in kindergarten) is for students to develop a love of learning through the use of the materials on this list.I will use the playdoh in a variety of capacities: when students come in in the morning I will make it available to students to use to help form the ABCs. Next I will have playdoh available in my calming corner for students to have something tactile in their hands. Finally I will use it during my play time for students who want to use it along with the Playdoh tools to be creative. The view masters will be in both my play area to provide ample opportunity for my students to develop fine motor and also a calming way to deescalate a student who may be upset. Kinetic sand can help students develop fine motor skills, such as imprinting, placing and finding items. It also works on bilateral skills to strengthen their hands and fingers. By setting up various sensory activities in my play area along with my calming area my students can experiment and discover new textures and properties. In my opinion there is nothing better than seeing students succeed while having fun!
