My Project

I am committed to providing our Honors Chemistry students at our school with all the materials they need to have a successful and engaging academic experience.

Each year, students at our school build a classroom periodic table that is displayed throughout the year.

This year, students will use wooden blocks to complete their project. Pens are used for providing feedback on student assignments, and correction tape is used to erase mistakes made during this process. Students use glue sticks to affix classwork to their notebooks, where they are kept for reference, and hot glue sticks are used for several projects that students will work on from time to time.

Ruled Post-It sticky note pads are useful for reminders for both students and faculty. They are also used for group work when doing classwork practice.

Nitrile gloves in large, medium, and small sizes are used for laboratory activities that students will engage in frequently.

We recently received a class set of calculators and need a calculator organizer to store and keep track of these devices. A label maker is useful for labelling the calculators, the shelves of the literature organizer will be used to store class copies of periodic tables, safety guides, day-to-day handouts, and various items that students will need to borrow and return before leaving the classroom. A laminator and laminating sheets are useful for preserving the periodic tables and other handouts that are used daily for all 180 school days.

The high Math content of the Honors Chemistry course requires high-usage of the white board, and white board markers and white board erasers are highly utilized on a daily basis.

These supplies will make a difference, and will enhance the classroom environment at the opening of schools in August, and will encourage student engagement during the school year.
