Hello! I am a teacher for students who have severe cognitive and behavior delays. We are learning many functional academics and life skills that are to be used at school and in the community. On top of that, the students partake in the school band as they learning how to play many musical instruments, including guitar drums, percussion, bass and keyboard. Our guitar and keyboard are broken and unfortunately, the students need these instruments to make our band sound great. The students are learning how to play musical instruments and to be creative artistically. Not only does our band play at our school, we play at various different schools in New York City.
Our band is very beneficial to our students, because it teaches them many different skills including math, reading comprehension, creative, thinking, teamwork, and how to collaborate with their teachers.
Getting a keyboard and guitar will be very special to the students.
