This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Hello generous donors! I have a 'bit of an 'emergency'!' In my 25 years of teaching at my same school: I have been doing a planting activity that has never failed! The children rinse their milk carton out after drinking the milk at lunchtime, and save them for Science class. Then the children are 're-using' and planting for our Earth. The children then use bags of soil that I always purchase to fill about 1/2 of their carton with soil, make a hole, add a couple of beans/seeds; cover the beans with a little more soil, and give it a few good sprays of water! Every year, except this year every plant has sprouted nicely. This time, only one, out of approximately 50!

I need your help so that I can order seedlings for the children to be able to bring home for Mother's Day, (whether they have their Mom at home or not).

As, for Science, the older children can try to discover variables involved that may have influenced or affected the plants growth, this year?

I am so grateful to all and for everything you donors do for our children (my students).
