Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

“Kente” You Please Help Us??? I am a Visual Arts teacher at a Tittle I - high need community school in NY who teaches pre-K to 5th grade. My students have not had the opportunity to paint in art class due to lack of paint brushes. Can you imagine not painting in Art class?? Crayons, markers, and paper can only go so far in an art curriculum. I would love my fourth graders to paint a Kente cloth pattern on paper as they learn about African Kingdoms, and the rich symbolism found in these beautiful Kente cloths. Please help me spread the joy of painting by supplying these children with paint brushes. It will be greatly appreciated.
