My Project

In our home economics course here at our intermediate school, I’ll be teaching valuable life skills to our eighth graders, many of whom are Native Hawaiian. We will be delving into utilization of various cooking equipment as we learn how to prepare local dishes like fried noodles and other island staples.

Food is a major part of the culture within Hawai’i, and I am excited at the prospect of preparing food with, and having my students enjoy them, just as they would at a luau— communally.

These baking and cooking ingredients will bring hands on experience to over 100 children (keiki) here, on Maui.
