Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students have the biggest hearts. They are funny and silly at times and that brings a smile to everyone. They show respect for adults and other students. They are willing to help one another and show that they are ready to learn. I would love my team to give each student that extra support to take home more school materials and use it in both places when we return to school. My students look forward to coming to school and learning different strategies while we practice fun hands-on activities. We have students from different grade levels that join our group and they look forward to returning to class and socializing with their peers.

My Project

The use of Word Building tiles will help my students learn to read and spell. Some students have different learning disabilities that require different strategies, and I would use the ink to print out packets from home due to the shut down of schools and send them out to continue practicing with their writing. The journals and lined newsprint -writing paper will help each student see their error and correct it. This will be very helpful to teach them how to handprint and stay in the line. I will also provide other learning resources that will be printed, that require laminating. The wipe and erase pockets can help with tracing some letters for a better formation. It can also use a whiteboard for math the number line and ten frame counters will help to count on, and see other strategies there is to add and subtract during math lessons. Base ten blocks are great visuals for students to understand better tens and ones. The cart will be used to keep materials and supplies organized and move around in the class and working from home temporarily.
