This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

How many elementary students really know what is going on in the world around them? Do elementary students have the opportunity to read about the world they live in, in kid friendly age appropriate language?

I am a teacher of 30 wonderful students.

I have the opportunity each day to work with motivated and excited children. Most of my students come from households that speak a different language other than English and lack technology and reading materials in their household.

My Project

Time for Kids magazine would be a great resource in the classroom. Time for Kids magazine will be used in the classroom for students to practice reading, comprehension, fluency, fact and opinion, and for keeping the students informed with what is happening in the world around them.

Since each student will receive a Time for Kids magazine to use at school and then take home, it is my hope that not only will the Time for Kids magazine be used in the classroom but also be used in the students' household too.

By each student having their own magazine, they can bring the knowledge they have read about to their families.
