This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
I teach 19 kindergartners that come to school with a wide range of social and academic levels. My county, my school, and I believe that all students are capable of learning regardless of where their skills are when they enter school.
We are a Title I school with 100% of the school receiving free breakfast and lunch.
My students come into the classroom excited and eager to learn. They have quickly become independent little learners with a genuine heart for one another in their classroom community.
My Project
It is not easy keeping the attention of kindergartners that live in a world with technology always at their fingertips. The Osmo Kits will make a difference in my classroom by allowing my students to engage in learning through technology that is not only entertaining, but keeps them learning and progressing with hands-on fun as well.
As I mentioned before, my students come to school on many different levels.
Some do not recognize or know how to spell their name, while others are already reading and writing. No matter where they are in their learning, the Osmo kits have activities to meet each child where they are and keep them learning and having fun doing it!
