Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My 8th-grade students are taking a high school health course. They are eager to learn all about their bodies and how to take care of themselves. This course allows students to ask tough questions, get comfortable with themselves and who they are, and teaches them the benefits and consequences of the health decisions we make today.

My Project

During our Physical Fitness component in our Health class, we do not have any materials or supplies that can show our students about heart rate, target heart rate, blood pressure, etc. It's important that students are able to visually see and apply hands-on practice when determining vital numbers of their health and wellness. If they can visually see their own numbers, it will impact the choices they make about their health and wellness. With the blood pressure kits, students will get to immerse themselves in an overall health educational experience. Teaching students the importance of maintaining healthy blood pressure levels is a crucial component of their overall health and well-being.
