My Students

I teach a fourth and fifth-grade multi-age classroom, at an urban school district, in Washington. Many students at our school, come from low socioeconomic backgrounds, and need all of the resources they can get at school!

I am a sixth-year teacher, needing some help to get a vacuum cleaner, in our classroom, so that we can keep our space clean.

Our school has just one vacuum cleaner, and it is a constant struggle to find the right time to vacuum our room. A vacuum and filter will help our classroom stay clean all the time!

My Project

When you enter a classroom, and see a clean space, it creates a warm and welcoming environment for students to learn. Having many large rugs in our classroom, it is very obvious when I vacuum, and when I don't. Students even comment on when the classroom gets vacuumed, because it seems to look so much cleaner!

Thank you for reading about this project, and helping our classroom get a clean space, so that students can feel safe to learn.

Cleanliness and neatness are life skills that students need, and having a classroom stay that way, will be a model for them, in how to keep their space clean anywhere they go!
