Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Our school is a Title I school and our students are composed of ELLs and students labeled with disabilities. Our students are entering kindergarten with a creative lens in which they can explore and develop themselves in multiple aspects. Some of our students are coming into the classroom without any prior educational experiences, thus we want to give our students the tools and opportunities to develop critical skills for reading, writing, math, and social-emotional development.
The goals for our kindergarten class are to promote equity and positivity throughout the day by highlighting students' strengths and encouraging students to be responsible learners of their classroom community.
My Project
These are unprecedented times now with COVID spreading throughout the world. We know that the classroom is a student's second home and safety and health are our number one priority. Therefore, in order to meet the needs of our students, we need cleaning supplies, and supplies that each individual student can use for their academics. It is imperative that students are not sharing supplies to reduce the spread of germs. In addition to this, we need to ensure our classroom is organized. This will help ensure our students are coming to an organized environment.
