Keep those kids organized! Teaching students to manage and take responsibility of their work is important for all, especially during their first experiences with school.
Our school is one of the first in our area that includes students of all abilities in a single classroom.
Students who develop typically, students with special needs, and students who are gifted learn side-by-side with each other and from each other. All of our students are resilient individuals that, despite their differences, make our school a welcoming community.
My Project
With a sturdy, durable cubby system, my students will be able to manage their own work and have a place of their own to develop their organization skills. Currently, students in my classroom use a cardboard cubby system that falls over, tilts forward, and crowds students around it. Can you imagine the disaster of paperwork? Students' work often gets damaged, stepped on and, most frustratingly, gets lost!
My students need these two tabletop communication centers to help build responsibility, manage their work, and keep the lost paper trail to a minimum.
We need a storage system that will last through the years, not just a year at a time.
