My Students

Starting kindergarten can be a scary time for a kid, especially if you speak a different language. Students worry who their teacher is, what friends they will make, how they will succeed in class subjects. As a kindergarten teacher with a classroom full with English Language Learners, my job is to make the students feel safe and cared for, so that they are able to learn without fear.

It is amazing to watch the students progress in speaking, listening, reading and writing English throughout the school year.

Most importantly, my kindergarten students speak the language of kindness and friendship, and that is a beautiful thing to watch and guide throughout the school year.

My Project

A kindergarten classroom can be a germ factory. Coughing, sneezing, and vomiting happen often in our classroom. Having a large supply of disinfecting wipes allows me to quickly wipe down messes to keep my students' learning environment clean.

My goal is to prevent germs from spreading so that children do not have to miss days of learning from being out sick.

In my kindergarten class, I have found mucus hiding in many places. Instead of boogers being picked and wiped under desks (yes, this happens), mucus will have a new home in Kleenex tissues.

Children need to make messes to learn. We create a lot of art and science projects and are all about hands-on learning. Having paper towels will allow us to clean up the learning messes so our classroom looks clean. I want my students to be proud to learn in our clean and healthy classroom!
