My Students

I am a lower grade science teacher. I teach K- 2nd grade. They get so excited every week about coming to science class. But this year is a very different year. Teaching and learning looks very different in 2020. My students come from many different backgrounds. Most families are from low-income households. The school is a Title I school which qualifies all of them for free breakfast and lunch. Most of them are recent immigrants and are English language learners.

I teach hybrid and fully remote groups this year, my students love science.

But this year has proved to be very challenging to try to keep students engaged, especially remotely.

My Project

Nearpod is a digital platform that is used for remote learning. Every lesson becomes interactive. Students can experience simulations, games, videos, and virtual trips, as well as drawing in real time as the teacher can monitor the students work. Students will get excited for every lesson and be engaged in learning. Teachers can monitor students progress and monitor every step of the lesson. I will be able to reach every child in real time by being able to check on responses during the lesson.

Nearpod will make learning from home fun and engaging.
