This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

What do I love about my students? I love when my students start quoting me to critique each other's work. I love seeing students stop by my room after school to work on assignments for other teachers, proud that they were chosen because of the skills they have learned in my room. I love hearing them in the hallway talking to other students about Photoshop, logos, videos, or other work they have created in my class. They are honestly extremely creative students.

My Project

Students in my video class have a project where they must film their own little short movie scene. As professionals, movies are always recorded on expensive steady cam equipment that allows the viewer to have a great experience. As students here, we record everything with our own hands, which gives us very shaky video footage and makes it look like it was recorded by amateurs. My students have great ideas and edit amazing video, but they lack the equipment to record just like the pros. This equipment will allow my students to make fast-tracking movements down the hallway without losing quality of video. The equipment will also allow students to film school events with very creative movements and effects as the gimbal gives you the ability to record in ways that they have never experienced. This will make them more well-rounded video creators.
