This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

The nurse's clinic in a Title 1 elementary school is a very busy place. Many of our students depend on the nurse for things that most of us take for granted. One of the easiest things to help the kids with is hygiene. It may be offering clean clothes when someone has an accident or by teaching puberty lessons and being able to give kids their very own deodorant. Good hygiene can boost confidence and set the stage for students to grow socially and academically. The nurse may not be able to fix everything but hygiene is a great place to start.
