Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I teach on the southwest side of Chicago. Most of my students come from low income families. These students, many times, fall behind both educationally and socially. The necessities we take for granted many times are luxuries for my students, such as books, pens and cleaning supplies. There is a back to school supply list posted for my school but many times the families may not be able to afford those items to help the classroom. The items for this donation help lessen that burden on families. I want to make sure I do everything in my power to give my students what other students across the county have at their disposal. These kids are so deserving and appreciative. Please help keep my classroom clean and clutter free so they have a safe and welcoming environment where they can focus solely on learning and being kids.

My Project

This project will ensure my ELA classroom and homeroom is clean and kept that way all year long. Classrooms get messy and smelly, especially in the middle school level. These supplies not only will keep us safe after returning back to the classroom, but it will also help with those students who may be a bit self conscious when enter a room after recess, gym, etc. These kids are the best and deserve to have a clean and beautiful space to learn everyday where they are not distracted by messes or clutter. Please help me make this year the best yet!
