My Students

"A #2 pencil and a dream can take you anywhere." -Joyce Meyer Help us get to ANYWHERE!!! We are lost without our sharpener! From fun, imaginative projects to informative essays, we write every day, every period and in every subject area. This puts a lot of wear and tear on our pencils.

Our students are predominantly from working class immigrant families with limited incomes.

For most of our students, English is not their first language. Living in Queens we have great diversity. Our school is a small community. We are fortunate to have no more than two classes per grade. Being a Pre-K to 8 school, we have the unique opportunity to watch our students grow and develop. This really is a school where everyone knows everyone!

My Project

My students need a pencil sharpener!!! We will write all day long! We are all stretching ourselves to meet the demands of the Common Core which involve expressing our thoughts through written language in every subject! We write to inform, entertain and persuade! We look forward to writing great thank you letters with our sharpened pencils!

It is really challenging for my students to bring in supplies and I struggle each year to get them what they need to be successful.

This donation will make a huge positive difference in our lives.
