This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

The Track team is made up of an amazing group of dedicated hard working athletes who love the sport of track and field and desire to be the best they can be. Our team is blessed to have gotten a beautiful new facility but are desperately in need of some new equipment. This new equipment will provide them the opportunity to hone their skills at practice, and be better ready for their track meets and field competitions. Because SPORTSMATTER.

My Project

By gaining access to this new training equipment, our team of amazingly talented and hard working young athletes will have the opportunity to hone their skills and be better equipped to thrive in our track and field competitions!

Track and field requires dedication and hard work, and these athletes are a testament of both, but the lack of proper training equipment is holding them back from reaching their true potential.

Given the opportunity to train with this equipment will allow them to see their progress and set bigger goals as individuals and as a team, and boost their confidence in practice and in competitions!

Some of the items were hoping to get your funding for are stopwatches so my athletes can accurately time themselves, and track their progress. Hurdles to help them practice for their hurdle races, and to gain hip mobility and strength. Resistance bands so we can do core exercises, as well as leg and upper body exercises that will help us gain strength to better train and prepare for our competitions. Jump ropes will help us gain foot speed, and coordination that are invaluable to track and field athletes.
