My Project

Our class of students with special needs is working with two other classes as part of our Pauly's Pals Card Co. Card Collab! These students are learning to develop good work habits and job skills to enable them to have jobs when they finish school. To help them do this, we have created a school-based greeting card vocation for them to work at.

This year, we have expanded our program to include two other classes as part of our Card Collab!

This gives more students the opportunity to enjoy and learn from this vocational opportunity. It also gives all of the students the opportunity to interact with new friends!

The students work hard and take great pride in being able to work independently to make greeting cards! They cut and glue card stock and background paper, die cut, and design greeting cards! We started this vocation a year ago and it has been wonderful to watch the students grow and become more independent with their jobs.

Students use paper cutters, die cut machines, and weeding tools independently. They talk to and depend on each other to work as a team. We have expanded and added jobs, such as gift tag making and string tying to help them continue to learn life skills and to grow.

We are looking for materials to help sustain and continue to expand this important learning experience for our students.
