This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Our school sharpeners are constantly breaking down. And when they work, they're fussy and noisy. This sharpener has great reviews by teachers and will hopefully keep us writing all year long.

My students are happy and eager students.

They are working on their writing, for which they'll need to keep those pencils nice and sharp. They will also need lots of reference materials. I will use the large Post-It pad and markers to post fun, creative and useful reference posters for them. They'll quickly be the best writers in town!

My Project

My pencil monitors will use the electric sharpener to quickly and quietly sharpen pencils. They'll store them for use when needed. It will save us from using the small hand held sharpeners we are currently using and it will keep our floor free from shavings. The Post-It pad and markers will be used by the teacher, but also by students. They will share their work with classmates by quickly and creatively writing up their information. These will be easily posted without the use of tape which wastes time and damages the walls.

We fight a constant battle with our currently broken-down electric sharpener.

Most days we just use the small hand-held ones. This sharpener will alleviate a great headache for my class and keep us smoothly rolling. The additional materials will help students access information quickly and will motivate students to be the best learners they can be.
