My Students

Keep the horns coming. My program is growing at a faster rate than my inventory. As such, too many students are sharing instruments and are restricted to playing only those instruments we have.

I live in an impoverished neighborhood where 95% of my students receive free school lunch.

The one saving grace in many of my students lives is being part of my program. This is not a class but a family has grown and become stronger over the years. Where we share good times and bad ones but most importantly make beautiful music.

My Project

By having one more working saxophone in my program, I will be able to allow more students to learn the saxophone. In addition, this will remove some of the strain in my current inventory, allowing more students to take their saxophone home and practice. Finally, having a working saxophone will allow students to learn how to play properly without learning bad habits.

With a band program that has been growing over the years, both person wise and playing wise, having another saxophone will just allow me to keep the momentum going.

Most importantly my students deserve working instruments because they love music and work hard every single day regardless of their everyday struggles.
