My Students

I teach band in a high school in northern MN. We are in a community of almost 7,000 people and our high school houses 630 students in grades 9-12.

My students come from all walks of life but have a common bond in their love of music.

They are a great group of kids who come to my classroom every day ready to play and always surprise me with their talents and willingness to work. They are the reason I come to school.

My Project

My students are exceptional kids in the fact that they are really good sports. This past summer our school was under construction with renovations and additions. We were getting a new band room so all of our instruments and supplies had to be stored somewhere else in the building. Sometime over the summer the school was broken into and many school instruments were stolen. This was a huge loss for us since our school district isn't a rich one.

My students need this snare drum.

We are down to 1 snare drum for 19 percussion students. My students have been so patient and have had to work with less, which makes me want to get these things replaced that much more. We are in great need of many things. This is my first project on Donors Choose so I'm starting here. Thank You.
