My Students

Keep Our Students Safe!

My Autistic students are the least protected and most vulnerable population in schools, please help me protect them in the school building.

I teach a group of 12 students with Autism between the ages of 7 and 11 with varying learning styles. My students have difficulty expressing their basic needs and heavily rely on structure. They love to be in the classroom and engage in learning. Classroom is their safety net, a welcoming and loving home, away from home.

My students depend on a rigid structure and color coordinated schedule to help them transition throughout the school day. This includes color coordinated seating area, schedules, and bins.

My students are from low income households where buying the materials is a challenge.

My Project

Materials such as face mask strap extender, pouches and lanyard will be utilized to ensure students masks don't fall on unclean surfaces. The boxes and storage will be used to keep their belongings in one location.

Supplies (photo pockets, colored tape, feet markers, pencils, pouches, rode, hooks, baskets, and etc), are to individualize student work space and provide a welcoming and safe environment to learn and socialize with peers and staff.

The books are there to help students learn to safely interact with peers in a new normal school setting.
