Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I am the librarian at Madison, a K-5 Dual Language school. No matter their home language, all of our students read, write and speak both English and Spanish. Our community is both linguistically and culturally diverse which is one of the many things that I love about working at Madison.

My Project

We received a grant previously to support learning at home with STEAM packs. They have been a HUGE hit with the students and families but I realized that I missed some things (Batteries that can be charged, a charger and wood for our laser cutter so so that we can cut things like catapult kits). I am getting notes and comments from teachers, students and families about how much fun they are having with these learning packs and my goal now is to keep them running and rotating! Thanks so much for any contribution to keeping these activities in the hands of children!

Students are coding, growing plants, engineering, playing games and participating in different art activities with their families because of these STEAM packs.

I am trying to keep the momentum and keep them moving and rotating!
