My Students

My students are A+, but our classroom temperature deserves a failing grade!

I am very lucky to work at P.S.22.

This school is filled with happy children and a wonderful staff. My students come in every morning with a smile on their faces and a readiness to learn. Their enthusiasm and eagerness makes my job as a teacher rewarding.

My Project

Imagine sitting in a crowded subway car on a hot and sticky summer day. How would you feel? Uncomfortable? Irritable? Stifling? Now imagine having to do math problems or taking a test in those conditions. Well that is how my students feel on a daily basis in the beginning and in the last months of the school year. Having the air conditioners will be beneficial to our class because we are on the third floor of our school and opening a window on hot and humid days does not help. The air conditioners will keep my students comfortable and help them focus on their work and on the lessons.

I believe that through this donation, I will be able to help maintain my students comfort level and give them the best environment in which they can learn.

I know that most adults would have a hard time concentrating in uncomfortable conditions so I don't believe its fair to put children in that situation.
